ST. PETERSBURG, September 14 Three girls who were injured in an accident with a group of cyclists on a highway in the Leningrad region remain in hospitals, the health committee reports St. Petersburg.
Earlier it was reported that last Thursday, at the 59th kilometer of the Scandinavia highway, for an unknown reason, a tractor driver hit a Ford passenger car moving in the same direction, accompanying a group of 11 schoolgirl cyclists aged 14-15 years. The impact caused the car to run over the athletes. According to the police, as a result of the accident, two cyclists died on the spot from their injuries. According to updated information, two people were killed and ten people were injured in the accident. It was reported that the accident involved athletes from an Olympic reserve school from Sestroretsk. The court arrested for two months the driver of the truck who caused the accident with the cyclists.
““Three girls who were injured in an accident on the Scandinavia highway remain in city hospitals. The rest have been discharged from hospitals for outpatient treatment,” the message says.
As the health department clarifies, the patient who suffered the most severely and was transferred from City Hospital No. 40 to the Pediatric University is preparing to be transferred from intensive care to the department. “Her condition is still assessed as serious, but with positive dynamics,” the department notes.
Earlier on Tuesday, the health department reported that 8 girls injured on the Scandinavia highway are in city hospitals. Prior to this, on September 10, it was reported that one of the girls was discharged from the city hospital No. 2 of St. Mary Magdalene.
