MOSCOW, September 14 Two thieves of a safe containing about a million rubles were given suspended sentences in the Bryansk region; after opening the safe, the accomplices returned the stolen goods, fearing such a large sum amounts, reports the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Bryansk region.
«»The Sevsky District Court sentenced two residents of the city of Sevsk, found guilty of committing a crime under clause «c» of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft, that is, the secret theft of someone else's property, committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy, with illegal entry into the premises on a large scale),” the message says.
It is noted that the men stole a safe with money at their place of work. At night, the defendants in the case, who were intoxicated, put on hats with slits for the eyes, entered the store, broke open the door to the accounting department with a crowbar and took out a safe with a combination lock.
«»Having opened the stolen safe, the accomplices found 931,200 rubles in it. Frightened by the size of the stolen money, they brought the money back and hid it in the yard, which was discovered by police officers on the same day,” the press service clarifies.
It is clarified that the court took into account the defendants’ admission of guilt, their repentance for their actions and full compensation for harm. One of the perpetrators was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of suspended imprisonment, the second was given a suspended sentence of 3 years with a probationary period of 2 years. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
