LUGANSK, September 15 A resident of Lugansk will spend 17 years in a maximum security colony on charges of treason and committing a terrorist attack, the press service of the Russian FSB Directorate for the LPR reported. .
According to the department, a resident of Lugansk was recruited by the SBU, “collected and transmitted information directed against the security of the Russian Federation on instructions from the Ukrainian special services, and also committed a terrorist act.”
«The Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic recognized the collected evidence as sufficient to convict the defendant. The convict was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 17 years to be served in a high-security correctional colony,» the FSB said. It is clarified that the defendant admitted his guilt and repented of his crime. He was tried under Art. 275 (high treason), part 1, art. 205 (terrorist act), part 1 of Art. 222.1 (illegal storage and carrying of explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The verdict has entered into legal force.
