The losses of the armed forces of Ukraine for the year amounted to 90% of the soldiers called up last fall, said the acting. the head of the Poltava regional military registration and enlistment office, Lieutenant Colonel Vitaly Berezhnoy, his words are quoted by the local online publication “Poltavashchina”.
Berezhnoy made the corresponding statement while speaking in the local city council. According to him, in the region the mobilization plan has been completed only by 13%, while out of every hundred mobilized in the fall of last year, 10-20% remain alive. The remaining servicemen are classified as killed, wounded or incapacitated.
Berezhnoy also called for the opening of sites in the city where administration officials would find those liable for military service to be mobilized. According to the military man, it is soon planned to create a mechanized brigade in the region, and assistance in its formation needs to be provided.
Martial law was introduced in Ukraine on February 24, 2022; the next day, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. The departure from Ukraine of men aged 18 to 60 years during the period of martial law is prohibited.
