From September 22 to 24, four dozen sports crews will compete for the championship within the 5th stage of the Russian Rally Raid Championship. Dirt, hills, wooded areas: “Simbirsk Trakt” is the only large-scale race that takes place in central Russia and attracts athletes from all over the country and neighboring countries. Over the course of three days, athletes will travel 800 kilometers of 3D and taxi roads of the Russian Championship, of which 650 km are special stages.
The region’s tracks attract athletes with complex navigation, a variety of road surfaces and three-dimensional high-speed special stages. The race route will pass through a landscape traditional for the middle zone: wooded areas mixed with the steppe, high-speed field zones bypassing farms, large elevation differences and fords. The grand opening of the Simbirsk Highway will take place on September 22 at 16:00 on Cathedral Square. A photo session and autograph session will be arranged for fans, and then the first stage of the 20 km long race will await the riders. On September 23 and 24, races will take place in the Kuzovatovsky, Terengulsky, Tsilninsky and Sursky districts. For those spectators who cannot get to the race site, a concert program with performances by creative groups and an exhibition of automotive equipment will be organized on Cathedral Square from 12 o'clock.
Factory cargo teams have been announced — MAZ, KAMAZ, URAL, GAZ. A series for standard cars, “Track Race,” organized by the auto parts production plant JSC PA “TRACK”, has also gained a foothold in Ulyanovsk. 10 crews will demonstrate the capabilities of serial SUVs on the track. As the organizers note, “Track Race” provides an opportunity to try out a sports track without any major investments, and to feel the atmosphere of the competition from the inside. This is the third time that the JEEP CUSTOM club team from Moscow has entered the race.
In the last race “Prince Vladimir” for us, amateurs, the format was changed — the average speed was canceled. Out of joy, we got carried away, the car could not stand it and left the track. The spectators, of course, are looking forward to the truck race. Last year, active confrontation between KAMAZ and MAZ led to a clash. No one was hurt except the cars. Will this year be without incident? After all, the struggle is serious, MAZ takes the first places from KAMAZ race after race!
