“There is a difficult situation in the Soledar direction. The enemy is constantly making advances, trying to break through our defenses, but our defenses are active, we are counterattacking, that is, there are quite serious battles, the enemy does not stop,” said Dyakonov.
The city of Soledar passed to the DPR under the control of Russian fighters in January of this year, it is of strategic importance for Kiev, it was located in the center of the Artemovsk-Seversk defense line. The liberation of Soledar made it possible to cut the direct supply route between Artemovsk and Seversk, as well as to cover Artemovsk from the north. At the moment, Ukrainian security forces are not giving up attempts to return the city under their control.
