As in its production home, the export MPV is offered with a choice of two petrol turbo engines.
This Hyundai minivan debuted in 2021; it was initially announced as an exclusive model for China, where its production was established: there the single-volume vehicle is called Custo. Alas, the Hyundai van did not achieve much success, but the MPV segment in the “heavenly” market is in consistently high demand. Thus, at the end of 2022, the Hyundai Custo sold 13,215 units, the result of eight months of 2023 was 7,804 units. For comparison, the sales volume of the local Honda Odyssey minivan is 44,586 and 25,210 units. respectively. So last year, Hyundai decided to bring Custo outside of China. The first conditional export market was Taiwan, and today the model also launched in Vietnam. Moreover, the foreign version was renamed from Custo to Custin.

Let us remind you that the MPV is based on the N3 platform, on which many models of the Hyundai-Kia concern are built, including the current Hyundai Tucson SUV and the Kia Carnival minivan. The main feature of the exterior is a massive radiator grille with integrated diode running lights (like Tussan), and the van also received unusual taillights. The length (4950 mm) and width (1850 mm) of Custo and Custin are the same, but the height of the Vietnamese van is less than that of the model for China: 1725 versus 1734 mm. The wheelbase is the same for both versions — 3055 mm.
As in the Middle Kingdom, the Vietnamese Custin is available with two gasoline engines to choose from: these are the 1.5 T-GDI turbo-four (170 hp, 253 Nm) and 2.0 T-GDI (236 hp, 353 Nm). Both engines are combined with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission and are exclusively front-wheel drive.
Hyundai Custin by default has a seven-seater leather interior with two separate seats in the second row. The base also includes 17-inch wheels, LED optics, digital instrumentation, a multimedia system with a 10.4-inch diagonal vertical touchscreen, six airbags, climate control, an electric sliding door on the right side, cruise control, and a rear view camera.

In terms of our money, the Hyundai Custin will cost somewhere between 3,400,000 — 4,000,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. Most likely, the model will subsequently appear in other countries of Southeast Asia, and it is also possible that it will reach South America. On request, a Chinese-made Hyundai minivan can be brought to Russia.
