The USA ranked first in the world in the number of ultra-rich people in 2022, second only to the United States, according to the Altrata World Ultra Wealth 2023 report (“the ultra-rich” in the report are those with a capital of $30 million or more). The results of the study are conducted in the Telegram channel of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The United States took first place (129,665 super-rich people), China came in second (47,190), then Germany (19,590), Japan (14,940), UK. (14,005), Canada (13,320), Hong Kong (12,615), France (11,980), Italy (8,930) and India (8,880).
When This made India the only country where the number of ultra-rich people grew year on year (+3.2%). All other countries saw declines, with the largest declines in Hong Kong and Japan (-23% and -21.9% respectively).
Last year, there were a total of 395,070 ultra-rich people in the world. That was down 5.4% from a year earlier, while the total wealth of the ultra-wealthy also fell 5.5% to $45.4 trillion. The number of super-rich people has fallen for the first time since 2018.
