SEOUL, September 17 North Korean leader Kim Jong During his visit to Primorye, Eun gave a gift to the Pacific Fleet, and he himself received gifts from Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and from the commander of long-range aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces Sergei Kobylash, reports the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (KCNA).
According to him, during a visit to the Knevichi military airfield, the North Korean leader received a gift from the commander of long-range aviation Kobylash “as a sign of boundless gratitude” for the visit.
Kim Jong-un received another gift from the Russian Defense Minister. “Sergei Shoigu presented the respected comrade Kim Jong-un with a heartfelt gift,” writes KCNA.
The North Korean leader, in turn, gave a gift to the Russian Pacific Fleet when he visited its base and boarded the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov. He “highly appreciated” the fighting spirit and heroism of the Russian Pacific Fleet, whose military personnel “make a great contribution to ensuring peace and security” in Northeast Asia and throughout the world. Kim Jong-un also left an entry in the ship's guest book.
It is not specified what kind of gifts Kim Jong-un gave and received.
Kim Jong-un visited Russia for the first time since 2019. On Tuesday he arrived in Primorye on his armored train; at the Khasan station he was met by the head of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and North Korea, the Minister of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov and the governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako. On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Kim Jong-un at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. On Friday, the DPRK leader visited the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin, where he looked inside a Superjet 100 aircraft. Next, a demonstration program of the Su-35 fighter took place for him, where the aircraft showed aerobatics in the sky.
On Saturday, Kim Jong-un arrived in Primorye. He visited the Knevichi airfield. There he was met by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, and Kim Jong-un was presented with strategic and operational-tactical aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The North Korean leader was also presented with the Kinzhal missile system on the MiG-31I missile carrier. Kim Jong-un got acquainted with the Russian long-range passenger aircraft Tu-214. Next, in Vladivostok, he visited the frigate «Marshal Shaposhnikov» and was shown modern missile control systems. On Saturday evening, the leader of the DPRK attended the ballet extravaganza «The Sleeping Beauty» on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater.
