CHELYABINSK, September 20 The court sentenced the head of the Mercada company in Chelyabinsk, accused of stealing more than 36 from two citizens, to 5.5 years in prison in a general regime colony million rubles, the press center of the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
According to the prosecutor's office, from August 2018 to April 2019, the defendant, being the head of Mercada LLC (type of activity — rental and management of own or leased non-residential real estate), under the pretext of selling premises in a property under construction at 99 Komsomolsky Prospekt in Chelyabinsk tricked a citizen into stealing 34 million rubles. In addition, in October 2021, he stole about 2.3 million rubles from another citizen under the pretext of selling an apartment in Chelyabinsk.
According to the Central District Court of Chelyabinsk, the accused is Arsen Hunanyan, the verdict against him was announced on September 20.
«The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk passed a verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. The court sentenced the perpetrator to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a fine of 700 thousand rubles, to be served in a correctional facility general regime colony,» the statement says.
Also, the court satisfied the claims of one of the victims in the amount of 34 million rubles, the second victim was compensated for the damage in full by transferring the apartment by court decision, the report clarifies.
The man was found guilty of committing two crimes under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), explains the prosecutor's office.
