SOCHI, September 20 There was no need for evacuation due to the fire of an empty tank for petroleum products at a fuel and lubricants warehouse in the Adler district of Sochi, the press service of the Sochi mayor's office reported .
“»On September 20, at 5.15, a signal was received about a fire at a fuel and lubricants warehouse located in the Adler district of Sochi. The forces and means of emergency and operational services were immediately brought to the scene. It was established that an empty tank for petroleum products was burning on the territory of the warehouse. The burning area is about 100 square meters,” the city administration said.
More than 60 rescuers are currently working on site, 15 pieces of equipment are involved, including gas service employees.
«There was no evacuation. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or injuries. There is no threat of the fire spreading beyond the industrial territory. The details of the incident are being clarified,» the mayor's office said.
At the same time, as confirmed by the press service of the Sochi airport, the airport is operating normally, flights are departing according to schedule.
