Journalist Sasha Sotnik (Alexander Sotnik) was included in the Rosfinmonitoring register of extremists and terrorists. This is reported by a telegram channel that monitors updates to the department’s list.
The Rosfinmonitoring register includes persons involved in cases of extremism or terrorism. At the same time, there was no official information about the initiation of cases under such articles against the journalist.
Sasha Sotnik is the creator and author of the YouTube channel Sotnik TV, which currently has more than 500 thousand subscribers.
“At a time when in Russia the media has turned into a weapon for the propaganda of war and hatred, we oppose total lies through truly free journalism,” the channel’s description says.
At the end of September 2016, the journalist left Russia. On his YouTube channel, he spoke about an anonymous call warning him that they were ready to “be patient” until October, after which they would “transfer him to the vegetable department.” Now Sasha Sotnik lives in Slovakia.
