MOSCOW, September 19 Single contacts between the Russian and the Ukrainian parties are taking place to transfer the children and restore their connection with their legal representatives; work is currently underway to return 15 Russian children located on the territory of Ukraine to their homeland, said Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children's Rights under the President of the Russian Federation.
«We have direct contact with the Ukrainian side. Isolated cases come from there. And I am actually grateful to my colleagues, because there are Russian children on the territory of Ukraine, this is a two-sided story. Now we have 15 children in our work that we need return to Russian territory, so my colleagues and I are in direct contact, quickly processing documents, working through humanitarian corridors that allow us to quickly come to the legal representative and pick up the child,” Lvova-Belova said on air at W Radio.
The Children's Ombudsman added that these cases are isolated and there is no talk of hundreds or thousands.
