MOSCOW, September 21 Ukrainian border guards detained six men of military age who tried to travel to Moldova in a truck trailer, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported on Thursday.
«During an inspection of a vehicle on the transit section of the Mayaki — Udobnoye road, border guards discovered six men who were planning to illegally enter Moldova,» says a message published on the Telegram channel of the border service.
It is noted that, having found the carriers, the men arrived in Odessa, where they were met and hidden in a truck trailer. The organizer of the transfer was accompanied by a passenger car. Such a trip cost the draft dodgers 4–5 thousand dollars, the department reports.
As the representative of the Ukrainian State Border Service Andrey Demchenko reported in early September, Ukrainian border guards daily detain about 20-30 people trying to illegally leave the country, most of them men of military age.
A martial law regime has been introduced in Ukraine since February 24, 2022; the next day, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. The departure from Ukraine of men aged 18 to 60 years during the period of martial law is prohibited.
