“Nobody said that they would defend there”
Separate units of self-organized fighters of the Wagner group arrived on the southern front in the region of Kherson and Zaporozhye. One of the thematic Telegram channels familiar with the situation wrote about this on Friday, September 22. Military expert, former special forces officer, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk told MK why the “musicians” ended up on the southern front and what tasks they will perform in the hottest sector.
About the fact that “musicians” After a break, they are gradually returning to the front, a number of Telegram channels reported on Friday, September 22. “Our forecasts are that “Wagner” they will show themselves, they will come true,” – wrote one of them.
They say that the question of the return of the “self-determined” stormtroopers are approved at the very top. They will serve on a general basis and will be assigned to one of the security forces, but definitely not to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Military expert Anatoly Matviychuk confirmed in a conversation with MK that the Wagner group is gradually returning after the long holidays:
– After the Wagner group lost its leadership, many of the “musicians” self-organized, others disbanded. Some units joined the regular units of the Russian army or went into new private military campaigns – PMCs.
Most likely, those groups that found themselves at the front underwent re-registration, received the status of volunteer or volunteer units, and entered into agreements with law enforcement agencies.
< p>– I believe that they arrive in those areas that they themselves have chosen to carry out service and combat missions.
– Now many people will ask this question. Yes, indeed, these are assault troops who are accustomed to attacking. But no one said that they would defend there… Most likely, now they will hold particularly important areas near Kherson that are promising for our future offensive.
