NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 22 Another criminal case has been filed against the head of the oncology department at a regional hospital in the Nizhny Novgorod region, who ordered patients to be injected with saline solution instead of medications, reported regional investigative department of the RF IC.
According to the investigation, the head of the antitumor therapy department of the Semenovsky district hospital from November 2022 to July 2023 gave instructions to nursing staff to administer injections of saline solution to patients suffering from oncology, or to use antitumor and immunostimulating drugs in a reduced dosage with the addition of saline solution. For what purpose the head of the oncology department gave such instructions is not specified. A criminal case was opened under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers), and on September 6 the man was arrested.
