MOSCOW, September 22 Former State Duma deputy Sergei Sokol elected chairman of the Supreme Council of Khakassia, the press service of United Russia reported.
«Sergei Sokol was elected chairman of the Supreme Council of Khakassia. The secretary of the regional branch of United Russia was elected to this position at the first meeting of the republican parliament,» says the party's telegram channel.< br>The decision to remove the powers of deputy Sokol was made by the State Duma on Tuesday on the basis of the parliamentarian’s statement.
Sokol was a candidate from United Russia for the post of head of Khakassia, whose elections took place from September 8 to 10, but 2 September, the politician withdrew his candidacy for health reasons. At the same time, Sokol remained the leader of the party list in the elections to the Supreme Council of the republic, where, as a result of the elections, United Russia received 34 mandates out of 50.
In August, Sokol presented the “Development Strategy of Khakassia — 2035”, which will be synchronized with The development strategy of Siberia, federal projects, state programs and national projects.
