DONETSK, September 23 Ukrainian troops fired 13 shells of 155 mm caliber at Donetsk, Makeevka and the Yasinovatsky district, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues reported related to war crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) in its telegram channel.
«Shelling was recorded from the AFU in the direction: 11.20 — the settlement of Karlovka — Donetsk (Kievsky district): two projectiles with a caliber of 155 millimeters were fired … 11.20 — the settlement of Karlovka — the settlement of Makeevka (Chervonogvardeysky district): two projectiles with a caliber of 155 millimeters …12.00 — Karlovka settlement — Donetsk (Kiev region): three shells with a caliber of 155 millimeters were fired,” the message says.
In addition, the representative office reported that on 12.10 two 155 mm caliber shells were fired into the Kievsky district of Donetsk, at 12.10 pm in Makeyevka (Chervonogvardeisky district) — two 155 mm caliber shells, and at 12.10 pm in the Yasinovatsky district — two 155 mm caliber shells.
Makeevka is a satellite city of Donetsk, adjacent to it from the northeast.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber; Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
