YEREVAN, September 24 Security measures reinforced at the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia in Yerevan, where protesters are approaching, the correspondent reports.
One of the entrances to the building is blocked by soldiers of the National Security Service, the other entrance is guarded by the so-called “red berets” — police special forces.
A group of protesters has already approached the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but so far there have been no clashes. Local opposition representatives use a megaphone to present their demands to the Armenian authorities, but the police do not respond to them.
On Sunday, the opposition in Yerevan organized another protest rally. Protests in Yerevan have not subsided since Tuesday, when Azerbaijan began “local anti-terrorist measures” to restore the constitutional order in Karabakh. In Yerevan they called what was happening aggression and stated that there were no Armenian units in Karabakh.
