During its official visit to Washington, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a meeting with former US Secretary of State and expert in the field of international relations Henry Kissinger.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak shared important details of this meeting in Telegram, emphasizing that the conversation with Kissinger was unusually deep and informative.

“It turned out to be a really deep conversation. Kissinger has many accurate quotes characterizing the current state of affairs in Russia,” Ermak noted.

He also said, that Kissinger had previously been skeptical about the possible entry of Ukraine into NATO, but has now changed his position on this issue.

“Before the start of this conflict, I was against Ukraine’s membership in NATO, because I feared that it would trigger exactly that process which we are seeing now. Now that the process has reached such a level, the idea of a neutral Ukraine in such conditions no longer makes sense,” Ermak quoted Kissinger.
