Lawyer Evgenia Suslova told the publication Novaya Tab that her client, 28-year-old Kaliningrad resident Ilya Ch., detained in the case of arson of an installation in the shape of the letter Z in Belgorod, was taken to the forest and tortured.
< p>As Suslova explained, Ilya Ch. himself told her about this. According to a Kaliningrad resident, on September 19, five men in civilian clothes blocked his path, took him by the hands and put him in a black Mercedes — none of them introduced themselves to the man. Later, New Tab writes, they put a bag over his head, handcuffs on his hands, and took him into the forest.
“They periodically dragged me in and out of the car, used physical force, used a stun gun, with which they shocked me more than 200 times… The handcuffs on my hands were tightened so tightly that I developed bruises. They put a wooden object under my feet, and one of the men with an ax in his hands threatened to cut off my legs,” the publication quotes an excerpt from the testimony of Ilya Ch.
In addition, as the Kaliningrad resident said, the unknown people used a gas burner, which they brought to his bare back while it was on. “In total, I received more than 50 punches and kicks to various parts of my body. At one point they poured some kind of flammable mixture on my legs and said that they would set my legs on fire. Also, my legs were repeatedly doused with water, to which they immediately brought a stun gun, and this made me feel much more painful,” “New Tab” quotes the victim as saying.
The publication writes that during the torture, Ilya Ch. was demanded to “confess” who his “curators” were, and were instructed what kind of testimony he should give — in particular, he was required to tell the security forces “about his reluctance to live in Russia” and his negative attitude “to the politics and ideology of our state.” Then the man was taken for an “inspection” of the room where he lived, after which he was taken to police department No. 1 in Belgorod. There the victim was awaiting interrogation, which took place the next day.
On September 20, the Belgorod Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the arrest of a 28-year-old Kaliningrad resident suspected of setting fire to a local installation in the shape of the letter Z; the name of the person involved in the case was not reported. . As the telegram channel “Operational Reports” wrote, the case was opened under the article on vandalism (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code).
Only in the evening of the same day, the security forces formalized the arrest of the victim — at the same time, according to Suslova, the documents included a new criminal case for the illegal acquisition, storage and transfer of large-caliber firearms, their main parts and ammunition (Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code).
The victim himself said that during the torture, objects similar to a hand grenade and a TNT block were placed in his hands; they were later found in his home during a search. The Kaliningrad resident's detention period was extended — according to preliminary information, a meeting to select a preventive measure for him should take place on September 25.
The luminous installation in the shape of the letter Z caught fire on the night of September 18, Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov reported. According to the mayor of the city, the structure was “virtually undamaged” — the fire was extinguished by the driver of a passing car.
Telegram channel “Belgorod No. 1” published a video in which a man in white pants and a black jacket approaches the letter Z, after which it lights up. Then several cars drive up to the installation, the drivers of which extinguish it until the firefighters arrive.
