ULAN BATOR, September 25 Legislatively important ensure agreements between the presidents of Russia and Mongolia, says State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
The delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, headed by Volodin, arrived on Saturday on an official visit to Mongolia, where a meeting of the commission on cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the State Great Khural of Mongolia is being held on Monday.
“Four years ago, you know, our presidents signed an agreement on friendly relations and a comprehensive strategic partnership. This obliges us to a lot. It is necessary to legislatively ensure the implementation of the agreements of the heads of state. First of all, to promote the practical solution of issues in such priority areas for our countries and relations , such as economics, finance, energy, transport, agriculture, environmental protection, education,” Volodin said during the meeting.
As the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation noted, the main task is to bring the dialogue to a qualitatively new level.
«Create legislative conditions for solving these problems in the interaction and interests, of course, of each of our countries — the Russian Federation and Mongolia,» he noted.
Volodin called Mongolia a close neighbor and one of Russia's key partners in Asia, emphasizing that the Russian Federation and Mongolia have always developed relations on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and non-interference in the affairs of a sovereign state.
The State Duma Speaker also recalled that next year will mark the 85th anniversary of the victory in the battle on the Khalkhin Gol River.

On Sunday, a meeting took place between State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Great State Khural of Mongolia Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar.
Volodin noted that Russia and Mongolia should develop a variety of formats of cooperation: interregional, cross-border, as well as inter-parliamentary.
Ulaanbaatar also hosted a meeting between Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Prime Minister of Mongolia Luvsannamsrain Oyuun-Erdene. They discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.
After the meetings, Volodin and members of the delegation laid a wreath at the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov in Ulaanbaatar.
