MOSCOW, September 26 The cumulative effect of the massive introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies by 2030 can ensure an increase in Russia's nominal GDP by 11.2 trillion rubles, subject to maximum investment, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at the strategic session “Development of Artificial Intelligence”.
“With maximum investments over 5 years, additional GDP growth from the mass implementation of AI is projected in the amount of 11.2 trillion rubles cumulatively by 2030,” Chernyshenko said.
He also said that thanks to the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, 300 research and applied projects, including those with international participation, will be launched by 2030. Also, by this time, 5 thousand organizations will receive preferential access to computing power for the development of AI, 95% of all companies will use AI, including thanks to government support, and 85% of all people employed in the economy will know how to use AI to solve work problems.
Chernyshenko added that the volume of the Russian AI market is growing steadily: in 2021 it amounted to more than 550 billion rubles, and in 2022 – already about 650 billion rubles. “According to experts, in 2025 AI will allow Russian organizations to save about 1 trillion rubles,” he emphasized.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, already now, thanks to AI, Yandex is introducing unmanned taxis on city routes, unmanned Kamaz trucks this summer began transporting cargo along the M-11 Moscow-St. Petersburg highway and along the roads of the Arctic. “They are safe and allow us to reduce freight transportation costs by 10-15%,” he emphasized, also recalling that unmanned “Swallows” will begin operating on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) in 2024.
In turn, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when processing hundreds of thousands of images, the accuracy of determining covid pneumonia thanks to AI reached almost 100%, and the speed of analyzing information for diagnosis has increased significantly, Chernyshenko added.
