BEIJING, September 26 China protested in connection with the introduction of US sanctions against Chinese companies under the pretext of links with the development of Iranian military aircraft, believes that Washington is abusing unilateral sanctions, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday.
Previously, the United States imposed sanctions against certain companies and individuals from Russia, Turkey and China, which, according to American authorities, may be associated with the Iranian drone program.
«China drew attention to the fact that the American side, under the pretext of the so-called connection with the development of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles and military aircraft, included some Chinese companies and citizens in the «list of specially designated persons», China strongly opposes this.» , says a message on the department’s website.
The department noted that “the United States abuses the methods of unilateral sanctions and extraterritorial jurisdictions, violates the order and rules of international trade, impedes normal trade and economic exchange, and harms the legitimate interests of Chinese companies and individuals.”
“The American side must immediately stop the unjustified harassment of Chinese companies and individuals,” the department emphasized.
