MOSCOW, September 22A joint study of the book service «Litres» and the store «Read-Gorod» showed that 60% of respondents note that the writer Viktor Pelevin predicts events and phenomena in his books, and 90% believe that this is a real person, although he does not appear on public, the press service of the book service reported.

For the release of Victor Pelevin’s new novel “Journey to Eleusis,” the book service “Litres” and the chain of bookstores “Read-Gorod” analyzed sales of the writer’s works over the past five years and also determined that Moscow and the Moscow region became the leaders in the rating among consumers of digital books. St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region and the Tver region, and the top three buyers of books in paper format are Moscow and the Moscow region, Sevastopol and the Tomsk region. The press service also emphasized that analysts from the liters and read-city group of companies analyzed data on book sales in the regions of the Russian Federation over the past five years (08/01/2018 – 08/01/2023), and then determined what percentage of Pelevin’s works in each region accounted for the total number of books sold during the specified period.
Viktor Pelevin is a postmodernist writer, winner of numerous awards, one of the most famous contemporary Russian authors. Every year he releases a new novel, which invariably becomes an event in the literary world. Pelevin leads a closed life, does not give interviews and does not appear in public.
