MOSCOW, September 25 The authorities will consider the issue of obtaining government services using foreign passports, said Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev on his page on the social network VKontakte.< br />““The issue of Russian citizens using foreign, and not just internal, passports to perform legally significant actions and receive government services will be comprehensively studied,” he wrote.
The Security Council Commission on Migration Policy discussed the situation in this area today meeting. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the first half of 2023, 8.2 million foreigners visited Russia.
“This is 62 percent more than in the same period a year earlier,” Medvedev emphasized.
br />The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted the importance of migrants for the country in terms of labor resources. At the same time, the stay of hundreds of thousands of visitors in Russia also gives rise to such problems as an increase in crime among foreigners and conflicts with local residents, which cannot be allowed.
