The Savelovsky District Court of Moscow fined sociologist and editor-in-chief of the Rabkor publication Boris Kagarlitsky 40 thousand rubles in an administrative case. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the court.
The sociologist was found guilty of not labeling his publications as a “foreign agent” (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). The publicist was included in the register of “foreign agents” on May 6, 2022.
Kagarlitsky is in a pre-trial detention center in the Komi Republic — on July 26, a court in Syktyvkar arrested him in the case of justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the case was a video “aimed at publicly justifying terrorism,” the court’s press service stated.
We are probably talking about a video entitled “Explosive congratulations from the cat Mostik, Nervous people and events, Attacks on infrastructure,” published on the Rabkor YouTube channel on October 19, 2022. The video was later removed from the channel.
The video told about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge on October 8 of the same year. On the day of the explosion, Kagarlitsky also published a post on his Telegram channel, in which he emphasized that the reasons for the attack on the Crimean Bridge “from a military point of view” are understandable.
In the summer, Rosfinmonitoring added the sociologist to the list of terrorists and extremists.
