MOSCOW, September 26 State Duma at a plenary session on Tuesday adopted a draft resolution on the establishment of a medal named after director Stanislav Govorukhin.
In June, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin proposed establishing a Stanislav Govorukhin medal, which would be awarded for achievements in culture and humanitarian activities, the State Duma press service reported.
«The medal that we established today has the status of a departmental award of the State Duma. It will be awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign citizens for merits in culture, humanitarian activities, patriotic education and international cooperation. The initiators of the award can be the chairman of the State Duma Dumas, factions, committees, commissions of the State Duma, and decisions on awards will be made by the Duma Council,” said the head of the State Duma Commission on Regulations, Viktor Pinsky, presenting the draft resolution submitted by the commission.
