KEMEROVO, September 29Operatives detained a suspect in the murder of two relatives, whose bodies were found in the basement of an abandoned house in the village of Baranovka, the SUSK for the Kemerovo region reported on its website on Friday.
The dead were found after a local resident told the police that she had not seen her uncle and brother for a long time, and they had not contacted her. The bodies lay in the boarded-up basement of an abandoned house, and were in such a condition that they were mummified.
““An investigative and forensic team from among experienced employees of the investigation department immediately left for the scene of the incident. During the investigative actions and operational activities carried out by employees of the Investigative Committee and the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the involvement of a 40-year-old resident of the village of Baranovka was established,” the release says.
The suspect turned out to be another relative of the victims — they were his father and brother. According to investigators, back in May last year he hacked them to death with an ax and threw their bodies into the cellar of his house.
«During the verification of evidence on the spot, the defendant showed in detail how he caused the death of his relatives, pointed to the weapon with which he committed the crime,» the department clarifies.
The issue of confining the detainee to a pre-trial detention center and bringing charges against him is being decided.
