MOSCOW, September 29 Latin countries America is pursuing an independent policy, they will have one of the leading roles in world politics, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“And now Latin American countries are showing a pattern in the success of the progressive formation of a multipolar system of international relations based on equality, justice, and respect for international law and each other's legitimate interests. In such a new polycentric architecture, the states of Latin America, with their enormous economic potential and human resources and the desire to pursue a sovereign independent foreign policy, will have one of the leading roles in the world, there is no doubt about it,» Putin said at the international parliamentary conference «Russia — Latin America»
According to him, Russia sincerely wants the countries of the Latin American region to progressively and dynamically develop, strengthen their positions in the world economy and politics.
«We We stand and have advocated for Latin America, in its unity and diversity, to be strong, independent and successful,» Putin added.
The first parliamentary conference «Russia — Latin America» began its work on Friday and will last until Monday, with the participation of representatives of more than half of Latin American countries.
