MOSCOW, September 28 The total volume of external financing for Ukraine in 2023 amounted to $32.6 billion, the country’s Ministry of Finance reports on its Telegram channel.
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Finance reported that Ukraine's national debt in August increased by a billion dollars and reached almost 134 billion dollars.
«Total external financing in 2023 is $32.6 billion,» the ministry said in a statement.
Among the sources of financing are the European Union, which provided Ukraine with $14.7 billion, grants from the United States — $9.8 billion, and funds from the IMF under the Extended Financing Program — $3.6 billion.
As Roksolana Pidlasa, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee, reported on July 30, this year $25.3 billion in external assistance from international partners was attracted to finance Ukraine’s budget, which amounted to 49.1% of all revenues.
The Parliament of Ukraine adopted the state budget for 2023 with a deficit of 1 trillion 296 million hryvnia ($35.1 billion). Prime Minister Denis Shmygal noted that the draft state budget for 2023 provides for revenues of 1.28 trillion hryvnia (about 34.6 billion dollars), expenses — 2.57 trillion hryvnia (about 69.6 billion dollars), the monthly budget deficit is estimated at 3 billion dollars, which Ukraine plans to cover with external borrowings.
