MOSCOW, September 28 The court sentenced a Ukrainian soldier to 19 years in a maximum security colony for ordering a mortar attack, which resulted in civilian casualties in the LPR , reported in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
“»The evidence was recognized by the Supreme Court of the LPR as sufficient to find the mortar commander, junior sergeant Artem Pukhalsky, guilty of committing crimes… By the court verdict, Pukhalsky was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 19 years to be served in a maximum security colony,» — the message says.
As specified, on May 6, 2022, the commander with the call sign “Storm” gave Pukhalsky the coordinates of areas in the city of Zolotoye, Severodonetsk region, on which the order was given to open fire. Pukhalsky ordered the mortar crew to take aim and fire five shots each with high-explosive fragmentation mines of 120 mm caliber in the direction of Voykova and Proizvodstvennaya streets.
As a result of mortar shelling on Voykova Street, a pensioner was injured of varying degrees of severity, who later died in the hospital. Near the stadium on Proizvodstvennaya Street, another elderly resident received mine-explosive injuries.
