Former member of the SS division “Galicia” Yaroslav Hunka (Gunka) is in hiding after a scandal in the Canadian Parliament, where he was first invited to be honored during the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, and then persecuted amid the scandal that began. This was reported by CBC with reference to a family friend of Hunka.
According to the channel’s source, his relatives are hiding with Hunka, who are now “afraid to show their faces.”
The channel’s interlocutor also noted, that she didn’t know about Hunka’s Nazi past before. In addition, she said that the family of the former SS man was not warned that he would be officially received in parliament.
