The Investigative Committee of the Nizhny Novgorod Region opened a criminal case for the murder (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code) of a resident of the Volga region, who was doused with gasoline and set on fire. This was reported on the website of the local department of the department.
A suspect was detained in the case — he turned out to be the brother of the deceased. Baza writes that his name is Oleg Grechko. According to investigators, on the evening of September 28, a “quarrel over a minor issue” arose between relatives, as a result of which the man doused his sister with gasoline and set her on fire. She died on the spot, and the suspect himself was taken to the hospital with second- and third-degree burns to his hands. The Investigative Committee writes that the detainee confessed to the murder.
Previously, Grechko had already been brought to justice five times for murder, theft and beatings (Articles 105, 158, 116.1 of the Criminal Code). In March 2022, he was sentenced to 11 years in a special regime colony — as a result of a quarrel, a man inflicted 11 knife wounds on an acquaintance and then strangled him with a wire from a boiler.
As NN.RU writes, a year later the convict was released — in the colony he was recruited to fight in the war in Ukraine. Baza also calls the detainee a “Wagnerian” and reports that after returning from the front, he settled with his sister in the Volga region.
