MOSCOW, September 29The situation with foreign aircraft of the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) will not affect the flights of Russian airlines to foreign destinations, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reported.
Earlier on Friday, an industry source reported that there are risks of arrest of Russian airlines' ships due to the fact that they continue to fly on the basis of contracts with GTLK Europe, which is currently in the process of liquidation.
«Carriers have at their disposal foreign-made aircraft that are owned both by other leasing companies and by the airlines themselves. Currently, these aircraft can be used to operate relevant international flights. Thus, the current situation will not affect the implementation of the flight program by Russian carriers to foreign destinations,” the Ministry of Transport said in a statement.
Currently, STLC has sent air carriers long-term leasing agreements with the Russian legal entity — JSC STLC, which confirm ownership of these aircraft. New contracts are expected to be concluded in the near future to mitigate all possible legal risks.
