ANKARA, Oct. 1 Entrances and exits to the Turkish Parliament building temporarily closed after an explosion in central Ankara, the legislature planned to resume work on Sunday after the summer holidays, Hürriyet newspaper reported.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, reported an attempted terrorist attack near the ministry building in the center of Ankara, one terrorist blew himself up, the other was neutralized. During the shootout, two police officers were slightly wounded. The Turkish Parliament on Sunday planned to resume work after the summer holidays, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was expected to speak.
“After the incident, the entrances and exits to the parliament building are temporarily closed due to security measures,” the publication writes.
