Russian federal television channels in their news broadcasts ignored the rally-concert dedicated to the anniversary of the annexation of Ukrainian territories, which took place on Red Square in Moscow the day before, the Agency noted.
Channel One, Rossiya 1 and NTV did not mention the event; instead, they broadcast Putin’s meeting in the Kremlin with three participants in the war in Ukraine and his conversation with Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and former chief of staff of Wagner PMC Andrei Troshev with the call sign Seda, the Agency writes. The audience was also told about the elections in Slovakia and the life of pandas in US zoos.
The concert was held under the slogan “One country, one family, one Russia,” as Meduza noted, the phrase “confusingly” resembles the motto of Nazi Germany “One people, one Reich, one Fuhrer.”
On September 28, Putin signed a law according to which the day of “annexation” to Russia of the self-proclaimed DPR, LPR, as well as parts of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine will be celebrated as an official memorable date — “Reunification Day”. The president himself did not come to the concert-rally.
As Meduza clarified, state employees, students, and paid extras were sent to the show. In the “Mega Volunteer Moscow” group, the age limit was indicated: “Preferably up to 35 years old, but older is possible.” Participants were asked to leave their passport details in order to enter the concert “according to the FSO list,” and they were given Russian flags on the spot.
Vladimir Mashkov, Shaman, Alexander Marshal, singer Zara, Oleg and Rodion Gazmanov, Stas Piekha, Nadezhda Babkina, Larisa Dolina, Nikolai Baskov, Khabib, group “123 Regiment”, singer Varvara, performed on Red Square State Duma deputy and actor Dmitry Pevtsov, as well as the Kuban Cossack Choir.
