ST. PETERSBURG, September 30 Head of the municipal district of Pechora of the Komi Republic Valery Serov, suspected of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale, was detained, and criminal proceedings were initiated against him criminal case, reports the press service of the Russian Federation State Criminal Investigation Department for the region.
“»Investigators of the Investigative Committee have opened a criminal case against the head of the municipal district «Pechora» — the head of the administration Valery Serov and his former first deputy Andrei Kanishchev, suspected of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale… Valery Serov was detained,» the message says .
Serov and his former deputy are charged with Part 6.Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (committing illegal actions committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) . The investigation asks that a preventive measure be chosen for both men in the form of detention.
In the criminal case, investigators together with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Komi Republic are collecting evidence.
Former deputy head of Pechora Andrey Kanishchev is already in custody on a criminal case of intentional infliction of grievous harm resulting in death.
