Moldova's external debt increased by almost seven percent in the first half of the year

CHISINAU, September 30 Moldova’s external debt in the first half of the year increased by 6.8% and reached $10.2 billion, reported press service of the National Bank of the Republic.
«»According to preliminary data, the gross external debt of Moldova increased by 6.8% compared to the end of 2022 and as of 06/30/2023 amounted to 10,242.00 million US dollars,” says a message published on the National Bank website .
Thus, the debt is equal to 67.2% of Moldova’s annual GDP.

State external debt amounted to 34.9% of the total external debt, equal to $3.57 billion (+9.5% compared to the end of 2022). The external debt of the private sector amounted to 6.66 billion, an increase of 5.3%.

In June 2022, Moldova’s external debt amounted to $8.617 billion.
