MOSCOW, September 28 Guests of Oktoberfest in Germany who showed a Nazi salute may be banned from attending the festival, writes the German newspaper Bild with reference to one of the organizers.
According to the publication, in the federal state of Saxony, which borders the birthplace of Oktoberfest — Bavaria — during the celebration, a DJ, at the request of guests, turned on a Nazi march and they showed a Nazi salute, the incident was caught on video.
«We have filed a complaint and provided the police with information about the suspects. If they are guilty, they will be banned for life from participating in our Oktoberfest» , said event co-organizer Matthias Braune.
The DJ who played the march claims he didn't know about the history behind the music and says he won't grant similar wishes next year.
Oktoberfest celebrations began on September 16 and will last just over two weeks. The festival was supposed to be the 190th, but the festival was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The celebration will last until October 3, with an average of up to 6 million people visiting each year.
