MOSCOW, September 29 Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that the day before he had spoken with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, the head of the lower house told Putin about the international parliamentary conference «Russia-Latin America.»
«I know that your conference has a very rich, large program. The Chairman of the State Duma of Russia told me yesterday about this,» Putin said, speaking at the parliamentary conference «Russia — Latin America».
The Russian head of state noted that those gathered would discuss the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening interaction between Russia and Latin American countries during thematic sessions and round tables. “And in a variety of areas: in politics, in the security sphere, in the socio-economic and humanitarian fields,” Putin noted.
The first parliamentary conference “Russia — Latin America” began its work on Friday and will last until Monday. As Volodin previously reported, representatives of more than half of the Latin American countries are participating in it.
