In Vladivostok, due to EU sanctions, parking meters stopped working

VLADIVOSTOK, October 1Parking meters have been temporarily disabled in Vladivostok since October 1 due to increased EU sanctions; the manufacturer of parking equipment has notified the distributor that it will no longer support the software, the Digital Primorye company reports.
Paid parking spaces are a joint project of the Vladivostok administration and the Digital Primorye company.

“Parking meters have come under sanctions… The official supplier of parking equipment, FLOWBIRD, has notified Digital Primorye that it will no longer support the software and hardware of parking meters… Parking meters will be disconnected from support from October 1… devices for cashless payment for parking in Vladivostok will be temporary disabled,” the company’s Telegram channel reported.

The text of the official notice from the manufacturer is also provided there. «European Union sanctions against Russia have been intensifying over the past few months. From now on, these sanctions do not allow us to continue our business relationship with your company. We are sorry to end this good business relationship, but in the current environment we can no longer maintain it,» the notice says .
«Digital Primorye» notes that «an analysis and assessment of the timing of modernization of parking equipment» is currently being carried out. Motorists are asked to use other payment methods, through the Digital Primorye application, website or SMS.
Since November 25 last year, the first nine paid parking zones began operating in Vladivostok, after which their number was increased. It was reported that the cost per hour ranges from 35 to 75 rubles; parking on two street sections in the center of Vladivostok will cost 100 rubles per hour. The fine for non-payment of parking is 1.5 thousand rubles.
The West has increased sanctions pressure on Russia over Ukraine, which has led to rising prices for electricity, fuel and food in Europe and the USA. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people. The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that Russia will solve all the problems that the West creates for it.
