MOSCOW, Oct 4 American Jermell Charlo said he is ready fight with the world champion according to the World Boxing Organization (WBO) in junior middleweight, Australian Tim Tszyu.
Tszyu will make his first title defense on October 15 in Australia in a fight with American Brian Mendoza. The Australian held the title of interim WBO champion, but was recognized as a full-fledged champion after Charlo, who held this title, entered the fight in Las Vegas with Mexican Saul Alvarez. Tszyu will also fight for Mendoza's interim WBC champion belt.
«»I'm returning to junior middleweight. It will be important for me, I will make this weight easily. I just stick to my plan and am ready to fight anyone. The main goal for me is to become a boxing legend. I hope you will include me into the hall of fame. I don’t know who controls this, but I deserve it. I just listen to my coaches, if Tim Tszyu is the next opponent, then I’m ready for this fight,” Boxing Scene quoted Charlo as saying.
Tim Tszyu is the son of former absolute world boxing champion in junior welterweight Konstantin Tszyu. He has 23 wins (17 by knockout) and no defeats. In March, the Australian defeated American Tony Harrison to become the interim WBO world champion. Charlo has 35 wins (19 by knockout), two losses and a draw.
