MOSCOW, 2 Oct. The Russian military is observing the aggressive expansion of the United States and is forced to respond, ex-CIA analyst Larry Johnson said on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
The expert drew attention to the statements of retired American general Ben Hodges that Russia “represents an existential «threat» to the United States, since it has an extensive nuclear arsenal, and called them «complete nonsense.»
Johnson recalled that Washington has sent troops abroad many times without the permission of foreign governments.
«»U.S. did this to over 200 countries! And who then poses an existential threat to the world?» — he asked.
Johnson recalled that the United States brought its army into Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya and many other territories.
“If you were a Russian general or an analyst in intelligence agency, you'd be crazy not to view the United States as a significant threat. Moreover, the United States has stationed nuclear-capable missiles in Romania and Poland,» said a former CIA agent.
Moscow reacts It is quite natural to react to the provocations that Washington arranges, Johnson concluded.
Russia has repeatedly emphasized that the North Atlantic Alliance is striving for confrontation and expansion into the post-Soviet space. According to presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, further expansion of the bloc will not bring greater security to Europe.
