SOCHI, Oct 4. The world is gradually moving away from economic colonialism, Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with participants in the international Olympiad on financial security.
«The world is gradually getting rid of the dictatorship of such a financial and economic model, the purpose of which is only to drive people into debt, into bondage, and turn into economic colonies, to deprive entire regions of the world of resources for development,” the president said.
He emphasized that the creation of a more honest and just multipolar world is inevitable and historically necessary. But such a world order also needs strong economic foundations.
The head of state recalled that technological financial instruments are now rapidly developing, but international cooperation also requires trust.

These are digital currency, digital financial assets, new payment services and financial settlement models. Including using blockchain technologies, the so-called distributed registry. I would like to say once again that in this area, especially when it comes to international economic cooperation, mutual trust and respect for the interests of partners and each other’s interests are extremely important,” Putin said.
He expressed confidence that the world will come to a consensus on issues of international financial security.
The Olympics are taking place on the federal territory «Sirius» in the Sochi region.
