The head of the droid C-3PO from «Star Wars» is up for auction

MOSCOW, Oct. 3 Helmet from the original C-3PO droid costume from the Star Wars film universe was put up for auction in London, ITV reported on Tuesday.

"It is expected that the C-3PO head worn by (British actor — ed.) Anthony Daniels in the first Star Wars film will raise one million pounds when it goes under the hammer next month,” the channel said.

The helmet from the C-3PO suit was used in the first film in the franchise, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, released in 1977. It is noted that the item became one of the most expensive in the auction collection.

In total, the auction, which will be held by Propstore Auction in London from November 9 to 12, will feature more than 1.8 thousand items from the filming of various films, the total value of which is estimated at more than 12 million pounds.

Among other things, the shield of Captain America from the 2011 film “The First Avenger”, the costume of actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s character from “Titanic”, as well as Indiana Jones’ shirt and whip will go under the hammer, the TV channel reports.
In addition, the auction will include items from filming and other famous franchises, including films about James Bond and Freddy Krueger, the material says.
Star Wars was created by George Lucas in the early 1970s. Six episodes (the first and second trilogy of three episodes) of the film saga were released in 1977, 1980, 1983, 1999, 2002 and 2005. In October 2012, Lucas sold Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion to Walt Disney Corporation. Then it became known that Disney was planning a sequel to Star Wars. In 2015, the seventh episode of the film franchise was released — the beginning of the third trilogy, in 2017 — the eighth, and in 2019 — the last ninth film.
