MOSCOW, October 5 Speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Valdai Forum will be very meaningful and very important, especially in conditions of international turbulence, said press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
«Well, of course, this kind of speech at, firstly, the plenary session of the anniversary annual meeting of Valdai is after all, the 20th meeting is remarkable in itself. And then those international conditions, international turbulence, transit transition — all this, of course, allows us to expect a very, very meaningful and very important speech from the president,» he said.< br>
This year the meeting of the Valdai Club is taking place in Sochi from October 2 to October 5. Putin traditionally meets with its participants and gives an extensive speech, and then answers questions from experts. As Peskov previously reported, the head of state will speak in the middle of the day.
The Valdai International Discussion Club is an association of foreign and Russian experts in the field of political science, economics, history and international relations. The organization was founded in September 2004 on the initiative of the agency, the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, the Moscow Times newspaper, the magazines “Russia in Global Affairs” and Russia Profile.
Since 2014, the club has moved from the format of “telling the world about Russia” to practically oriented work on shaping the global agenda, towards a qualified assessment of world political and economic problems. The club sees one of its main goals as consolidating the world's intellectual elite to develop solutions to overcome the crises of the world system.
