MURMANSK, October 6 A court in the Arkhangelsk region sentenced the head of the pathology department of the hospital in Nyandoma, who negligently mixed up the bodies of the dead and falsified medical documents, to a fine of 100 thousand rubles, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported.
The court found that the head of the pathoanatomical department of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution JSC «Nyandoma Central District Hospital» in November 2020 «was dishonest and negligent in the performance of his official duties, did not provide a pathoanatomical autopsy of the corpse and allowed it to be handed over for burial to the relatives of another deceased,» whose body was in the same pathoanatomical department.
As noted by the prosecutor's office, wanting to hide the fact that there was no autopsy of the body, the convict entered into the medical certificate of death deliberately false information about its causes.
“»By the court's verdict, the convict was sentenced to a fine of 100 thousand rubles. The judicial panel for criminal cases of the Arkhangelsk Regional Court did not satisfy the appeals of the convict and his defense attorney about innocence,» the report says.
The defendant did not admit his guilt in court. He was charged with Part 2 of Art. 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (official forgery, that is, the entry by an official into official documents of knowingly false information, committed out of personal interest, resulting in a significant violation of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens).
How the consequences of the actions of the convicted person in relation to the relatives of the deceased were eliminated, the department did not report.
