MOSCOW, October 6 The Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced to 24 years in a maximum security colony a Ukrainian serviceman who ordered the execution of a civilian resident of the city of Mariupol, the DPR prosecutor's office reported.
“»The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic passed a verdict in a criminal case against Alim Tkachuk, a 32-year-old soldier of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was found guilty under paragraphs «g», «l» of part 2 of the article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder committed by an organized group, motivated by political, ideological hatred), Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cruel treatment of the civilian population in the occupied territory),” the prosecutor’s office said.
The court found that from March 25 to March 27, 2022, Tkachuk was in Mariupol at the “Fortress” combat position. Via radio communication, Tkachuk gave the order to “liquidate” a civilian walking along Mamin Sibiryak Street. Following his order, a serviceman with the call sign “Topper” shot the man with a machine gun, killing him on the spot.
““Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced Tkachuk to 24 years in prison to be served in a maximum security colony,” the prosecutor’s office reported.
