The Southern District Military Court sentenced Stavropol resident Nikita Belikov to 11 years in prison on charges of participation in a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). The press service of the court reported this to Mediazona.
Belikov will spend the first three years of his sentence in prison, the rest of the term in a maximum security colony. According to investigators, a resident of Stavropol recorded a video message about joining the Azov battalion, which is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia.
Using a messenger, Belikov sent a video to one of the battalion members, later also giving him photographs of the Stavropol Arena sports training center and the city council.
According to information on the court website, case materials acted against Belikov in June. TASS writes that he admitted guilt in the case.
